Big Day for Sugiura as Mamajuanas Down Decepticons, 12-9
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

Kichibei Sugiura was instrumental in his team's 12-9 triumph over the Santo Domingo Decepticons. The second baseman hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Punta Cana Mamajuanas. Reliever Toyokazu Ando picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Júlio Saucedo took the loss. Pedro Strickland was credited with the save for Punta Cana, his 10th of the season.

Katsumoto Ito went 1-4 with a walk. He scored 2 runs for Punta Cana. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Ito came through with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Mamajuanas in front, 9-8.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Sugiura, "one at-bat at a time."

The Mamajuanas' win now puts them at 26-24.
