Emancipation Top Lakota in Extras, 2-1
|
The Lincoln Emancipation had to overcome a fine effort from Sioux Falls pitcher Emílio García to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Emancipation Stadium. García went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Roberto Alicea. He is now 5-6. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Lincoln, now 38-74, holds down last place in the Rocky Mountain League North.
The Emancipation procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Hayden Trick. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Sioux Falls manager Jorge Garza.
