Skyelanders Deal Gigans 7-5 Loss
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Kenny Bell, the Glendale Skyelanders defeated the Niigata Gigans, 7-5. Bell went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Skyelanders. Earning his 12th save of the year was Paddy Ladd. Glendale is second in the Rocky Mountain League West with a record of 67-49.
Hsin Wang, the 23-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wang contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Glendale up, 1-0.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Wang, "and go after the next one."
