Israel De La Cruz never let the Skyelanders get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Plumbers to a win, 3-1. De La Cruz picked up the win for Yokohama, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 11-3. Seishiro Iwata sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Troy Davis, who is tied for 4th in the RML in doubles with 33, helped out the Yokohama cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Nice win for us," said Davis. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Yokohama, at 66-55, holds down third place in the Rocky Mountain League Pacific.
