Balloonists Rally to Tally 8-6 Win
|
The Gatineau Balloonists had to overcome a big game from Quebec City left fielder John Reeves to leave Ballonists Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning 8-6. Reeves hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Manuel Santos, credited with the save, is now 10 for 15 in save opportunities. With the win, Gatineau has a record of 50-61. Quebec City falls to 68-45.
Had José Aguilar not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Aguilar hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Balloonists.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Aguilar said (again).
