The Toronto Phantoms and Kumamoto Mothra were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Kumamoto starter Todd Miller pitched well against the Toronto Phantoms at Phantoms Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Miller picked up the win for Kumamoto, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 14-5. Picking up the save was Álex Lodeiro. He's now 22 for 25 in save chances.
Kumamoto used a well-timed hit by Tom Randall to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Mothra ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Miller told the Kumamoto Bulletin.
Kumamoto is now 45-68, Toronto 74-40.
