Industrialists Knock Off Kings, 6-2
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Hamilton Industrialists picked up a win at Kings Ballpark, knocking off the Red Deer Kings, 6-2. On the mound for Hamilton was right-hander Ángel Borges, who played a pivotal role in the win. Borges, now 6-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs.
Hamilton used the bat of Pancho García to capture the win. The right fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Industrialists ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Hamilton manager Robert Davis.
With this game in the books, Hamilton is 74-47, Red Deer 45-76.
