The Manchester Maulers tallied a win at Whiten Field, throttling the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 4-2. Starting pitcher Derek Valera was a big reason for his team's success. Valera picked up the win for Manchester, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 11-8. Dong-hyun Pak locked down his 23rd save.

Chih-tui Hsu dealt the Thoroughbreds a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Manchester trailing 2-1, Hsu hit a full count fastball for a 2-run double.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Valera told the Manchester Herald.
