No one was more impactful than Mathys Monin in the 9-3 West Valley City win over Lincoln. Monin went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. West Valley City reliever Nathaniel Shaw picked up the win to move to 3-10. Sergio Vélez suffered the loss. The Grizzlies now have a record of 37-96.
In the bottom of the second, José Gómez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the West Valley City left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Grizzlies in front, 9-3.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gómez.
