|
Chandler Waxers starter Kunisada Yasuda was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Henderson Fighting Scotts, 6-2. Yasuda got the win, improving to 15-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Yasuda allowed 2 runs. Chandler now sits in second place in the Rocky Mountain League West at 79-55.
The Waxers got an important contribution from catcher Alejandro García, who in the bottom of the first punched a first pitch curveball into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Waxers ahead, 4-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chandler manager Pat Holman.
