The Port Royal Privateers and Punta Cana Mamajuanas delighted fans at Safeway Grounds.
Punta Cana starter Jesús Rivas put a stranglehold on the Port Royal offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Mamajuanas to a 4-1 win. Francisco Acevedo earned the save, his 3rd, for the Mamajuanas.
Making an impact for the home team was Gilberto Pérez. In the bottom of the third, the 18-year old catcher had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 3-1, Mamajuanas.
"Jesús made his pitches," said Punta Cana manager Koto Hayashi.
Port Royal now has a 5-game losing streak.
