The Gatineau Balloonists eked out a 2-1 win versus the Medicine Hat Drillers at Ballonists Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Carlos Colón. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Colón, now 11-7. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. David Porris notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
In the bottom of the second, Gatineau second baseman Darren Curran had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and one out, Curran stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Gatineau. For the game, he went 2-3 with 2 singles.
Colón told a Gatineau Citizen reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
The Balloonists improve their record to 58-73 with the win over Medicine Hat.
