Calgary got a strong outing from Elio Polandi as the Stampede defeated the Sherwood Park Hoods, 3-1, at Hoods Ballpark. Calgary currently is in third place in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose at 57-80.

Calgary relied on the hitting of Kuniyoshi Watanabe to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stampede on top, 3-1. For the game, Watanabe had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Polandi called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
