Edmonton Wins, 6-5
|
Sadahige Kouki had a good game, but he could not keep the Hamilton Industrialists from falling, 6-5, to the Edmonton Mall Ratz at Hamilton Grounds. The Hamilton first baseman was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Kevin Harding got credit for the win, improving to 8-1. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 6.2 innings. Brad Flynn earned his 22nd save in 26 chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eric Wallace? The Edmonton first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mall Ratz on top, 5-4. For the game, Wallace had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We ground out the win," said Wallace. "That's all that matters."
Edmonton now sits at 80-60, while Hamilton falls to 83-57.
