The Shin Seiki Evas picked up a win at Genesis Park, knocking off the Aurora Borealis, 6-1. On the mound for Shin Seiki was left-hander Jorge Castillo, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7 innings, Castillo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. At 58-58, the Evas are currently 4th in the Sovereign League Rising Sun.

The Borealis had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Evas going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Manny Lara came to the plate. Lara hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 slider from Aurora hurler Barry Rodríguez. It was Lara's 2nd home run of the year.

Castillo said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
