Warriors Stick Sandgnats with 5-4 Loss
|
Duluth center fielder José Rivera was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Crystal Lake Sandgnats. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles for Duluth. Cooper Harris, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 10-8. Shirai Mori earned the save for Duluth, his 6th of the year.
In the top of the second, with the game still scoreless, Rivera hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Rivera. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The first-place Warriors go to 64-54.
