Privateers Fall Short at Punta Cana, 3-2
|
Port Royal wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Alfonso Vázquez, falling to the Punta Cana Mamajuanas, 3-2. Vázquez threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Mamajuanas.
Punta Cana took a 3-2 lead on Katsumoto Ito's 17th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Port Royal pitcher Wes Lee in the bottom of the eighth.
"Losing feels worse," said Port Royal manager Ed Scott, "than winning feels good."
