The Reno Zephyrs did just enough to sneak past the Bakersfield Bears, 4-3, at The Oaks at Aera Field. Reno designated hitter Paul Oglethorpe, in particular, had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Carmelo Lamberti. He tossed 84 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The first-place Zephyrs are 75-44.

With Reno leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Oglethorpe hit a fastball from Derrick Harvey for a 2-run double. It was his 25th double of the season and put the Zephyrs ahead, 3-0.
