Abbott Helps Cenicienta del Pacifico Beat Olympians, 9-3
|
Ensenada second baseman Andy Abbott played a vital role in his team's 9-3 triumph over Nagano. He went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for Ensenada. Ernesto Moreno earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries. Their 64-59 record puts the Cenicienta del Pacifico 4th in the Baja Cali League Mexican.
With Ensenada leading 6-2 in the top of the ninth, Abbott came up to bat against Nagano pitcher Shawn Pope. Abbott hit a fastball to right-center for a bases-clearing double. His 16th double of the season put the Cenicienta del Pacifico on top, 9-2.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Abbott told the Ensenada Bulletin.
