Cincinnati Wins Again, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Unifiers defeated the Marshall McConaugheys, 3-2 in Game 2 of the Regionals today. Doing his part was starter Dusty Kennedy, who threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The win moves Cincinnati into a 2-0 lead in the series.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Nick Wilson was at the plate when Cincinnati scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Unifiers to go in front, 3-2.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Unifiers manager Jesús Ávila said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, May 10th , 2039 at McConaugheys Ballpark in Huntington.
