The Marshall McConaugheys relied on the hitting of first baseman Roberto Robles to get by the Stanford Axe, 5-4, in Game 2 of the Regionals today. For the game, Robles went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.

Marshall took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, right fielder Skip Paul hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"By the skin of our teeth, man," Paul told the Marshall Observer. "But hey, it still counts. A few more by the skin of our teeth is fine with me."

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, May 8th , 2040 at Axe Ballpark in Palo Alto.
