Raucous Sprinters Ballpark Crowd Propels Mohicans to 6-5 Victory; Series Tied at 2
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the Divisional, the Joplin Red Racers could not close the deal.

Game 4 went into extra frames and the Mansfield Mohicans emerged victorious, earning a 12-inning, 6-5 win. Joplin third baseman Cipriano Barrera was terrific in the loss. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once at Sprinters Ballpark today but could not prevent the Mohicans from clawing their way back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Mansfield left fielder Kenzo Yamauchi, facing Gilberto Flores, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Mohicans the 6-5 win.

"That was fun but I'll be happy with a nice, safe win next time," Mansfield manager Pat Maxwell said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sprinters Ballpark in Mansfield.
