Road Win Lifts Beantown to 1-0 Lead in R2
The Beantown Browns defeated the Clifton Dons, 4-1 in Game 1 of the Divisional today. Doing his part was starter Teo Beerens, who threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win moves Beantown into a 1-0 lead in the series.

Beantown used the clutch hitting of Jun Shibata to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Browns ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Good win for us," said Beerens. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Clifton Stadium in Jersey City.
