Shmoes Rally Past Rapidos Blancos for 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Mexicali Shmoes took the first game of the Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the San Luis Rio Colorado Rapidos Blancos with a ninth-inning, walk-off, 1-0 shutout victory. Shmoes pitcher Ken Marshall threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.
The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Cliff Douglas, Myoung-chul Hwang struck out. It gave Mexicali the 1-0 win.
"Winning never gets old," said Hwang.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Shmoes Stadium in Mexicali.
