Sharks Win Semifinales
The San Juan Sharks didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Trujillo Alto Maracas in the Semifinales tonight.

Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 7-2 win moving the club on to the Puerto Rico Showdown, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the Ballpark of San Juan crowd.

"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Puerto Rico Showdown, so it's an important step," said Jim Romón as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."

Romón was named series MVP, as he hit .370 with a .393 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.

On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Maracas sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching San Juan celebrate.

The San Juan Sharks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Aguadilla Roadrunners - Bayamon Predators series. Bayamon leads the series 3 games to 2. The Puerto Rico Showdown schedule will be announced after the Semifinales finishes.
