Bani Tops Puerto Plata Again, 5-2
|
With starter António Peña leading the charge, the Bani Depredadores del Peravia defeated the Puerto Plata Playas Dorada, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Semifinales today. The left-hander threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs at Ballpark of Puerto Plata to help Bani take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Bani used the bat of Héctor Mejía to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Depredadores del Peravia ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"António made his pitches," said Bani manager Ashley Roberts.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Puerto Plata in Puerto Plata.
