Segadoras de Cafe Edge Zafiros Blanco 2-1 to Open R1

The Semifinales got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling Moca Segadoras de Cafe taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the host Azua Zafiros Blanco. Moca right-hander Ramón García was marvelous at Zafiros Blanco Ballpark. The Segadoras de Cafe now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Moca used a well-timed hit by Salvador García to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Segadoras de Cafe ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Segadoras de Cafe manager Alberto Casillas said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Zafiros Blanco Ballpark in Azua.
