Dons Pull Off Thrilling 8-5 Win in Extras
A good performance from left fielder Jake Joseph helped the Clifton Dons defeat the Santo Domingo Tourists, 8-5. Joseph went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Dons. The winner in relief was Barney Swanson. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. The Dons are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 5th win in 14 games.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Joseph hit a fastball from Everton Desforges for a 3-run home run. The Dons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

In postgame comments to the Clifton Daily, Joseph said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
