Santo Domingo Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Tourists third baseman Carlos Martínez put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Akron Ambers. Martínez went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Santo Domingo in the contest. The win gives Santo Domingo a record of 7-8.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Martínez hit a fastball from Chris Perado for a 2-run home run. The Tourists, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"They played a better game than we did," said Akron skipper Tommy Taylor.
