Led by Wilson Guerrero, the Raleigh El Dorados defeated the Fayetteville Braggarts, 5-3. Guerrero was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times for the El Dorados. Brant Metcalf earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. The save went to Walter Griffin, number 1 for him.
Steve Hambleton, who is tied for 10th in the AML in home runs with 8, came through for Raleigh with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 runs batted in.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Hambleton.
With the win, Raleigh goes to 22-20, while the Braggarts fall to 22-20.
