Tri-Staters Win at Jefferson County, 7-3
|
The Evansville Tri-Staters picked up a win at Ballpark of Jefferson County, knocking off the Jefferson County Independence, 7-3. On the mound for Evansville was right-hander Rob Patel, who played a pivotal role in the win. Patel went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-3. With the win, the Tri-Staters have a record of 33-28.
Steve Overgaag, the 31-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Overgaag contributed a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put Evansville up, 5-0.
