Montoya Lifts Akira to 4-3 Triumph
In a close game at Washoe Field, the Neo-Tokyo Akira edged the Reno Zephyrs, 4-3. Neo-Tokyo right fielder Eric Montoya stood apart with his performance. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win puts Neo-Tokyo at 11-6.

Montoya contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Neo-Tokyo in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Montoya took a sinker from Toby Ayers and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Akira to leap in front, 3-2.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Neo-Tokyo manager David Bell. "It's usually not just one thing."
