Late Magic Gets Toyama 2-0 Win
|
The Toyama Wind Dancers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Dave Costello, who kept Palm Springs hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Wind Dancers win at Elderberry Field. Toyama reliever Seishiro Iwata picked up the win to move to 1-0. Bartolo Baca suffered the loss. The win has Toyama at 11-7.
Toyama used a clutch hit from Ryozo Kouyama to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wind Dancers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did just enough to win," Costello said.
