Win Makes Loggers 12-5
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Tacoma Loggers and the Portland Chinook, pitcher Germán Godina was the difference between victory and defeat. The Tacoma right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Loggers win. Godina picked up the win for Tacoma, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The loss puts Portland at 7-10.
Keishi Yamashita, the 24-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Yamashita contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put Tacoma up, 1-0.
Yamashita called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
