Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Remuda
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Boise Remuda relied on the hitting of first baseman Tiburcio Penela to stop the Sacramento Deltas, 6-3. For the game, Penela went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Herb Williams closed the game out for Boise, earning his 7th save.
Boise used the clutch hitting of Sjoerd Lubbers to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Remuda the lead, 3-2. For the game, Lubbers had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Lubbers called the triumph "a good team win."
With the loss, Sacramento is 10-6.
