Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Sacramento Deltas got the win.

Sacramento starter George Ladd had a strong outing against the Portland Chinook at Kauffman Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Lawrence Adams earned the save for Sacramento, his 7th of the year.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when catcher Willie Ellis, who finished 5th in the HUM in triples with 5 in 2036, hit a sacrifice fly. The Deltas went on to win.

Ellis said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

The win puts Sacramento at 13-7.
