Behind an impressive start by Kevin Gallegos, Beantown beat Clifton, 3-2. Gallegos got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Gallegos allowed 1 run. Beantown is in second place in the Appalachian Mountain League East with a record of 72-47.
Beantown used the timely hitting of Sadaharu Okamura to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Browns on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper, "let me know."
