El Dorados Down Ambers, 2-1
|
The Raleigh El Dorados did just enough to sneak past the Akron Ambers, 2-1, at El Dorado Field. Raleigh pitcher Glenn Taylor, in particular, had a standout performance. Taylor picked up the win for Raleigh, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. Gunner Carney earned the save for Raleigh, his 2nd of the year.
John Caldwell aided the Raleigh cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Taylor told the Raleigh News.
Raleigh is 4th in the Appalachian Mountain League East with a record of 58-60.
