Trendsetters Win, Mancuso 4-4
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the New Orleans Trendsetters and Kentucky Thoroughbreds.
With left fielder Richard Mancuso leading the charge, the New Orleans Trendsetters defeated the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 3-1, at Raceway Park. Mancuso went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Nathan Gallard. He's now 3-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Trendsetters. Josh Cheney closed the door for New Orleans, picking up his 6th save of the year.
New Orleans took a 3-1 lead on Mancuso's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Dong-hak Yi in the top of the sixth, propelled New Orleans to the win.
Mancuso called the win "a team effort."
New Orleans is now 10-10.
