Grizzlies Lose Late, 6-4
|
The Chandler Waxers topped the West Valley City Grizzlies, 6-4, in Rocky Mountain League action at Ballpark of West Valley City. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chandler pitcher Kunisada Yasuda. The winning pitcher was Yasuda, now 3-1. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. In-ho Kim recorded his 2nd save for Chandler.
Chandler used the clutch hitting of Armando León to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Waxers the lead, 6-4. For the game, León had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Yasuda told the Chandler Observer.
The win leaves Chandler with a record of 15-7.
