Kichikawa Lifts Lakota to 15-4 Triumph
|
The Lincoln Emancipation extended their losing streak with a loss to the Sioux Falls Lakota.
Sioux Falls second baseman Tamuramaro Kichikawa played a vital role in his team's 15-4 triumph over Lincoln. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Sioux Falls. César Echevarría, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held Lincoln to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts.
Boyd Nelson hit a bases-clearing double off Stuart Meriken in the top of the first, which put the Lakota in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Nelson had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 4.
Nelson told the Sioux Falls News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
The Emancipation, now 0-21, continue their slow start.
