Spirited fans greeted the Shizuoka Anguirus for their clash with the Thornton Sun Dogs.

The Thornton Sun Dogs weathered an outstanding game by Shizuoka shortstop Brian Wall to topple the Anguirus, 11-9. Wall went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Thornton reliever Tyan-yu Zeng picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Tommy Atkins took the loss. Rafael Ruíz recorded the save for Thornton, his 3rd of the season.

Thornton used the clutch hitting of Manuel Pagán to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Sun Dogs the lead, 5-2. For the game, Pagán had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

Sun Dogs manager Mamoru Shimada wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

The win puts Thornton at 12-22.
