The Lincoln Emancipation topped the Glendale Skyelanders, 3-1, in Rocky Mountain League action at Skyelanders Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Lincoln pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Sergio Vélez. The Emancipation now have a record of 3-35.

In the top of the second inning, Marc Torres muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Lincoln ahead, 2-0. For the game, Torres was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We'll build on this win," said Vélez.
