Puckmen Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Anguirus, 6-3
|
The Shizuoka Anguirus got a superb performance from pitcher Fernando Fierro. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Namuko. The Puckmen won the game, 6-3. Fierro threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball. Chris Puddifoot earned the save for Namuko, his 14th of the year. The Puckmen bumped their record to 25-12 with this latest triumph.
The Puckmen beat the Anguirus in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Arturo Carolino produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Truscott, Carolino gave his team a 6-3 lead when he hit a bases-clearing double.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Carolino told the Namuko Today.
