Emancipation Top Racine, 4-3
|
The Racine Lakers got a superb performance from pitcher Ramón Noriega. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Lincoln. The Emancipation won the game, 4-3. Noriega threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Lincoln reliever Jim Hixson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Carlos Sánchez took the loss. At 11-27, Lincoln is in last place in the Rocky Mountain League North.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Lincoln center fielder Tommy Millar, facing Carlos Sánchez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Emancipation the 4-3 win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Millar.
