Bokors Fall Short, 2-1, at Beaufort
|
Carlo Borsellino pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Port-au-Prince Bokors, despite Borsellino's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Beaufort Loggerdoggers at Loggerdoggers Ballpark. Soetsu Kawano earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Port-au-Prince, with the loss, is 0-3.
The Loggerdoggers got a big at-bat from first baseman Takeo Miyagi. For the game, Miyagi went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Beaufort a 2-1 lead.
"We scored one run," said Port-au-Prince manager Pedro Anderson. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
