Lobsters Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
Ballpark of Maine was the site of a tense game between the Maine Lobsters and Liverpool Beatles.
Liverpool Beatles starter Luis López was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Maine Lobsters, 3-1. López, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk.
Liverpool relied on the hitting of António Colón to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beatles on top, 2-1. For the game, Colón had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Luis was throwing strikes, locating well," said Liverpool manager Pancho Guerrero.
The win gives the Beatles a record of 6-5.
