Chávez Slugs 3 Homers, Insurers Get 11-4 Win
|
The Omaha Insurers beat the Hampton Airborne by a score of 11-4. Omaha right fielder Jesús Chávez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Chávez belted 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times for the Insurers. The win puts Omaha at 4-4.
With Omaha leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Chávez hit a curveball from Cristo Lagunas for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Insurers ahead, 4-0.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Chávez said in reaction to the win.
