Hot Start Continues for Airborne
|
The Santurce Castillos got a superb performance from pitcher Jesús Rodríguez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hampton. The Airborne won the game, 6-2. Rodríguez threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Hampton reliever Eko Kartini picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gustavo Molina shouldered the loss. The Airborne, now 9-3, have played inspired baseball.
In the bottom of the sixth, Dave McCann delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Hampton catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Airborne in front, 6-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McCann said.
