Floundering Insurers Lose 6th Straight
The Inverness Highlanders overcame a fine performance by Omaha third baseman Katsunosuki Kawano to defeat the Insurers, 6-5, at The Fortress at Inverness. Kawano belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Arthur Valadez, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The 4th-place Highlanders now have a 5-game winning streak.

The Highlanders were down to their final out when center fielder Tsuneari Okamoto turned a 2-0 fastball from Yoshimi Kohara into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the The Fortress at Inverness crowd go wild.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Okamoto told reporters after the game.
